V nadaljevanju bo analiziran in preučevan vpliv članstva v EU in vpliv članstva v Evropski monetarni uniji (EMU) s prevzemom skupne valute evro.

V empirični raziskavi bomo uporabili različne spremenljivke, in sicer: novo odprta mala podjetja, propadla mala podjetja, letni promet podjetja, število zaposlenih, nezaposlenost v državi, BDP na prebivalca, inflacija in davki. Predstaviti želimo sodoben pristop k analizi malega podjetništva z uporabo faktorske analize in dodatno tudi kointegracijske (avto)regresijske analize s pomočjo analize enotskega korena. Načrtovana je objava dveh znanstvenih člankov in predstavitev rezultatov projekta na vsaj dveh mednarodnih znanstvenih konferencah, in sicer v vsaki državi po eno. Vsaka stran bo v projektu pridobila in zbrala svoje nacionalne podatke in oblikovala časovne vrste za spremenljivke ter preverila verodostojnost podatkov. Raziskovalni skupini bosta odgovorni za empirično analizo in raziskave s sodobnimi raziskovalnimi metodami.

EN:

The project proposal is a joint project prepared and agreed for fundamental research at the micro and macroeconomic level, using modern research methods, starting with the basic factor analysis. Research is focused on two countries, e.g. Slovenia and Croatia that emerged from the common economic and political space and we would analyse the comparison between them. Slovenia joined the European Union (EU) in 2004 and Croatia in 2013. In order to realize the advantages and disadvantages of joining the EU in the field of business factors in each country we will study which factors affect to small businesses in each country. After all it will be analysed and studied the impact of EU membership and the impact of membership in the European Monetary Union (EMU) with the acquisition to the common currency euro. In our research we will use modern researching methods started from the factor analysis and simple regression analysis. Using these methods, we will get results for both countries, which will be compared to each other. First, we examine the dynamics of economy of Croatia and the factors affecting growth of small and medium businesses (SME). Secondly, we will examine the Slovenian economy and factors on the growth of small businesses. Slovenia is part of the EU and has adopted euro as its national currency since 2007. The two countries, Slovenia and Croatia, have had facing an economic crisis during the last few years. Countries has different policies to the growth of SME. By comparing the findings of both countries we would like to get an answer to the general question of performances to subsidies for small businesses. Further emphasis will be on cooperation academy-industry and between two small open economies. It will also examine the impact of the degree of integration with the EU on the movement of small enterprises in each country. From the previous studies and observations funds from grants and other grant sources for small enterprises do not invest in innovation and business productivity, as confirmed by the recent publication of the European Commission. In that sense the empirical part of the research is tested by two hypotheses (H): H1: The rate of growth of SME is not substantially different between the two countries. Spatial analysis. H2: The establishment and growth of SME is related to macroeconomic factors, which are pushing factors in SME business. We rate the factor influence of this shocks in each country, negative or positive impact, the rate and linearity’s. Moreover we check the statistical improvement of the models (autocorrelations, normalities, heteroskedacity, etc.). We will use monthly data from national statistical offices of Croatia and Slovenia, the national business associations and from Eurostat for the period from 2007 to 2018. In the empirical study, we will use variables, namely the number of newly opened and fail SMEs,; annual turnover, numbe

r of employees in SMEs, national unemployment rate, GDP per capita, inflation rate, taxes. We want to present a modern approach to the analysis of small business using factor analysis and even further cointegarted (auto)regression analysis with the influence of unit root research methods. The plan is to publish two scientific papers and present project results to at least two international scientific conferences, in each country by one. Each site will be engaged and gained in the project and gather their national data and created time series data and verify the authenticity of the data. The research groups will be responsible for analysis and empirical research to modern econometric methods.

The project is
funded by the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS).
